Title: INSEC Surveillance on Explosive Device Incidents 2007

Summary
From 1 January to 31 December, INSEC district representatives reported 42 incidents with 104 casualties (13 killed, 91 injured). All the five regions had incidents of unintentional explosions with mid-west region having the highest number of incidents (12) with 17 casualties and followed by eastern region (11) incidents but 44 casualties. Jhapa had the highest number of casualties (32) but in a single incident. The districts to have highest number of casualties were Kailali and Siraha with three incidents each. Twenty-nine districts out of 75 had the unintentional explosions causing civilian casualties.
