INSEC Online

About Us

The Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) launched INSEC Online on August 1, 2004 (2061 Saun 16 BS) in commemoration of its founding General Secretary, the late Prakash Kafle, with the aim of providing daily updates on the human rights situation in Nepal. The purpose of this online platform is to deliver information about human rights violations and abuses occurring daily in Nepal, along with news and updates on human rights issues, to the national and international human rights community and individuals interested in human rights.

INSEC representatives based in all 77 districts of Nepal collect verified information about human rights violations, abuses, and other human rights-related news from their respective districts and forward them to the provincial offices. The seven provincial offices, after necessary editorial processing, publish these reports.

INSEC Online features a variety of materials, including news and articles on human rights issues, interviews with experts from various fields on current topics, features and photo features, press releases, data collection reports, and regular INSEC publications such as the Nepal Human Rights Year Book. The site aims to ensure that all published content is authentic and fact-based, accurately reflecting the state of human rights in Nepal.

Rather than focusing on breaking news, INSEC Online prioritizes in-depth monitoring and factual detail. The organization welcomes constructive feedback and suggestions from its informed readership, believing that such input will help enhance and refine its work.
