A complaint was lodged against the 49-year-old father-in-law for raping his 27-year-old daughter-in-law on April 4, 2021. The victim was raped on March 13, 2021.
Inspector Indrajit Sunar of the District Police Office Dailekh said that search for the absconding accused and investigation into the incident has been started.
The victim told the INSEC representative that the accused had beaten her when she informed her husband about the rape two years ago. “This time, I informed my mother-in-law, but the husband and father-in-law evicted her from the house on the night of March 5, saying that the dignity of the house had been tarnished by the neighbors,” said the victim.
The victim, along with her one-year-old daughter, has taken shelter at a family home in Ekta Nagar, Tikapur Municipality-1, Kailali.
According to Dr. Jeena Sapkota, the victim was examined at Dailekh Hospital on April 4.
