The stake holders of the district have said that the women violence and cast discrimination is still prevailing in the society, but in a disguised manner.
Madan Paudel, manager in documentation and dissemination department, INSEC. INSEC coordinator Khadga Raj Joshi including activists said that the discrimination is indirectly affecting the society while speaking at the interaction program with a team of human rights activists in Baitadi.
Chief District Officer Siddha Raj Joshi of Baitadi said that women violence and caste discrimination is rampant but indirect in the society and NGOs and activists must seriously work to minimize it.
Chief Heramba Sharma of District Police Office of Baitadi said that there are trend of settling incidents of violence within the community which needs to be reviewed seriously.
The monitoring team of INSEC had also gathered the overall human rights situation of the district during the interaction with police administration, prison, human rights activists, political representatives and media personnel.
