Urged to raise issues on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights

INSEC coordinator Khadga Raj Joshi of Dhangadhi has urged all media personnel and rights activists to raise the issue of economic, social and cultural rights with priority.

He was urging to prioritize ESC rights while speaking at the interaction program organized in Khalanga by INSEC on May 3 with media personnel and activists.

The program was organized in order to gather information on overall human rights situation of the district. Joshi also stressed on raising the issues on ESC rights that has been suppressed in the society.

Advocate and secretary of district Bar Association Dhirendra Singfh Saud said that the children rights in the district is very week and there is a lack of body working specifically for the children issues.

Women rights activists Hira Awasthi said that women in the district are facing violence due to the alcohol consumption by their husband. The women violence is increasing due to the easy access of alovohal in the society. She also added that there are no safe house for the victims of women violence creating difficulties to deliver justice to them.

The program was participated by political representatives, activists, media and leaders from the civil society.

Chief Madan Paudel from INSEC documentation and dissemination department highlighted the objective of the program.
