The police post in Birtabazar was vandalized on February 19.
While investigating the assault on Sujan Rai, a resident of Bahirdashi Rural Municipality–4, who works at Kaji Party Palace in Birtamod Municipality–3, Rai was kept at the police post. On February 19, Rai’s supporters vandalized the Birtabazar police post.
Sujan Rai, who works at Kaji Party Palace in Birtamod Municipality–3, was beaten on February 19 by the palace operator Khadka, along with employees Shivakoti and Budhathoki. During the investigation of the incident, Rai and all the accused were kept at the police post, when Rai’s supporters vandalized the police post, according to the police.
The vandalism caused the glass of the front window of the Birtabazar police post office to break, and damage was caused to the computer table.
The three individuals involved in the assault have been released on bail by the police. Sujan Rai, who was injured in the beating, is receiving treatment at B&C Hospital, according to police.
The police have stated that others involved in the vandalism remain at large and are being searched for.
