Police arrested Manjesh Yadav, 32 of Balawa Municipality–6 on July 17, 2026, on charges of beating Husnem Ansari, 36, of the same ward.
According to the complaint filed at the District Police Office on July 16, 2026, the victim alleged that while local residents had gathered to inspect a road under construction in their neighborhood that night, Ward Chairperson Baijnath Jha, 50, Shyam Yadav, 56, Manjesh Yadav, 32, Balram Yadav, 35, and Raju Yadav, 30 blocked the road, restrained him, and beating him. The victim was taken to the Provincial Hospital, Jaleshwar for treatment the same night. As further treatment was not possible there, he was referred to Godawari Hospital, Janakpur, according to the victim’s brother, Nurain Ansari.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Panchalal Gole said the incident is under investigation and police are searching for the remaining accused.
