The Accountability Watch Committee (AWC) has urged the government to address the issue of Transitional Justice.
The committee while releasing a press statement on April 3 has said that “it is very sad that the amendment of TRC act is still pending despite of spending four years since the apex court had ordered for its amendment”. The statement also showed its concern on government being apathetic on this serious issue.
The government of Nepal has recently formed the officials on selection recommendation committee of TRC and CIEDP in chairmanship of former apex court chief justice Om Prakash Mishra. The AWC drew the attention of the government saying that from next month there is a situation that commission will be without officials.
The committee has appealed the government to full fill its commitment shown in an international arena by focusing the issue of transitional justice. Online Desk
