Accused of Killing arrested

Police have arrested Bimala Bohra and her husband Praja Bohra of Puchaudi municipality on the charge of killing Dhan Bahadur Bista, Surnaya Rural Municiplaity-2, Gwani, on December 22. The accused were studying Computer Diploma at Krishna Secondary School, where the victim was employed as a teacher.

DSP Prem Shahi of the District Police Office said that a Bohra couple was arrested and investigated on the suspicion of killing teacher Bishta, who was found dead on December 22 at Patan.Mohan Kumar Acharya, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sudurpaschim Province Police Office said that both of them are in the custody of the Area Police Office, Patan. The District Police Office, Baitadi is preparing to publicize the accused through a press conference.

The accused were arrested at their dormitory room after the CIB team arrived. According to the police, during the arrest and investigation evidence was obtained that they were involved in the incident.

DSP Shahi said that the murder may have been due to a dispute over Bishta’s involvement with a woman living in the same dormitory.

Bistha was found dead behind the dormitory on December 17. A protest has been going on in Patan since December 17, demanding an investigation of the incident.

The Sangharsh Committee, formed for justice, shut down schools across the district on December 22 and appealed to support the movement.

The post-mortem of Bishta’s body was conducted on December 18 at the Primary Health Center, Patan. However, the victim’s family refused to recover the body.
