INSEC Meets CDO of Sarlahi for the Pre-election Status Update

The election observers’ team from Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) sat on discussion with the Chief District Officer and other stakeholders of Sarlahi. The team discussed the situation of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly’s election to be held on November 20.

The team led by the Coordinator of INSEC Madhesh Province, Raju Paswan met Thaneshwar Gautam, the Chief District Officer of Sarlahi and received information about the pre-election preparations.

Chief District Officer Gautam informed that the work of appointing polling officers and other staff in the district is underway. Sharing about the resource constraints, he informed that it is not possible to arrange separate wheelchairs for people with disabilities.

Chief District Officer Gautam informed that arrangements have been made for senior citizens to vote and peace and security arrangements were made at the polling centres at the designated time.

Meanwhile, the orientation for election observers mobilized to Sarlahi district from the INSEC Madhes province Office has been completed on November 14.

Facilitating the orientation, Raju Paswan, coordinator of INSEC Madhesh Province informed the observers about the importance of observation along with their roles and responsibilities. He also urged the observers to observe the election based on the truth and facts.

Barun Basyal, the INSEC program focal person informed us about the report that needs to be prepared by the observers.
