Police have arrested 18-year-old Himal Sapkota, 21-year-old Yashu Sapkota and 18-year-old Basant Bista of Ghodaghodi Municipality-2 Sadepani from Ghodaghodi Municipality-1 Janakpur on the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl from Ghodaghodi Municipality-1 Janakpur on September 8, 2022 .
A 17-year-old girl took her to Yashu Sapkota’s house to meet her friends on the evening of September 6, and four boys gathered at Sapkota’s house gang-raped her. The complaint was filed on September 8 at Area Police Office, Sukkad.
DSP Lakshman Shahi told INSEC that based on the complaint of the victim, the accused were arrested on September 9 and a case was filed through the District Attorney’s office. The investigation period was extended by the District Court.
DSP Shahi said that 18-year-old Nain Kunwar of Ghodaghodi Municipality-1 Janakpur, accused of the incident, is absconding.
The medical examination of the victim was conducted on September 9 at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi.
