A complaint has been filed against Ramchalitar Mahato, 38, the Depuy Chairperson of Lahan municipality and a resident of Lahan Municipality-2, at the Area Police Office on the charge of attempting to rape of a 21-year-old woman. The accused has been arrested on July 21, 2022.
It is alleged that the accused attempted to rape the victim by calling her on June 2, 2022, saying that she would get a job in the rural municipality.
The victim said that the complaint was delayed because the accused had threatened to kill her if she told her about the incident.
The health examination of the victim woman was conducted at Ramkumar Uma Prasad Memorial Hospital in Lahan on July 21.
District Police Office Siraha DSP Shubash Budhathoki said that the incident will be investigated and action will be taken.
Accused Mahato responded that this conspiracy was made to spoil his political image and discredit him.
