Police have arrested Ashok Mallik, 23, on the charge of killing his wife Babita Mallik, 30. The accused was arrested on July 1, 2022. Mallik was accused of killing his wife by setting her on fire.
DSP Deepak Shrestha of the District Police Office shared that according to the initial investigation, the accused had set his wife on fire by sprinkling kerosine on the night of July 1 during a domestic dispute.
The Police had immediately rescued the victim and rushed her to Koshi Hospital for treatment. Babita died on July 2 while undergoing treatment.
The postmortem of the body was conducted on at Koshi Hospital on July 2.
The victim’s body was cremated on July 2 at Rangeli Municipality-1.
