Police arrested Ram Kumar Surkheti, 45, of Risku, Katari Municipality-6 on June 14 on the charge of stabbing and injuring Srijana Rai, 43, of Triyuga Municipality-1. The victim is the former wife of the accused.
DSP Santosh Acharya of the District Police Office said that the reason behind the attack could not be ascertained. The victim had been operating a shop in Triyuga Municipality-1, Phuljor.
According to DSP Acharya, the accused stabbed himself after stabbing Srijana.
Both the injured have been rescued and admitted to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan Ghopa for treatment.
