President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has called for the formation of New government on December 18. President Bhandari has called for the name of the Prime Minister with the support of two or more parties within seven days.
Press release issued by the President’s office on December 18 mentions that the President had proceeded for the formation of the government in accordance to Article 76(2) of the constitution as no party has a clear majority to form the government pursuant to Article 76(1) of the same.
Through Press release, the President has asked the parties representing in the House of Representative to appoint the representative who can obtain majority votes from the two or more parties consensually by December 25, 5:00 PM on Sunday.
