Sanitary pads were distributed to women Security Personnel deployed for security of the upcoming election of members of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly to be held on November 20.
District Police Office in coordination with the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) with the support of Baglung District Dealer Narvada Traders, distributed pads to 328 women security personnel including 328 members of temporary police and 67 members of Nepal Police. The pads were produced by Adarsh Communication Cooperative Organization Baglung and Jaswin Housing Products.
According to Huma Kumari GC ‘Anju’, Chairperson of Adarsh Sanchar Cooperative Organization, the distribution of pads was done to ensure comfort for women security personnel during their period cycle and to raise their morale. She shared that they were able to hand over pads and masks to 328 people. Although the quantity is small, this program has been organized to promote a positive message.
Similarly, SP Dayanidhi Gyawali, Head of the District Police Office, Baglung, said that the District Police Office has provided essential medicines and medical supplies to the security personnel deployed for the election. “It may seem like a small thing, but it provides a great relief to women security personals deployed in the villages,” Gyawali said.
