A media partnership meeting with INSEC Western regional office of Pokhara and FNJ has been held jointly on December 2.
In the meeting, the participants have said that human rights activists and media personnel are insecure and at risky condition due to the political situation of the country.
FNJ chairperson of Rupendehi, Sher Bahadur KC said that the human rights defenders are at more risk especially after the proposal of constitution amendment. He added that human rights defenders must come together and pressurize the government for the protection and promotion of human rights.

Human rights officer Anij Paudel of NHRC sub regional office of Butwal said that there are increasing trend of domestic violence in western region including serious violation of human rights. He added that the risk for human rights defender will be minimized if they work in their field being nutral, biasless and calm.
INSEC western regional coordinator Shiva Khakurel said that human rights defender must play an equal role with the government to ensure Human Rights.
Women Rights activist Indira Acharya said that Human rights defenders are at added risk due to the social infrastructure.
In the program, INSEC district representatives and media personnel from Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Palpa and Rupendehi had reported about the human rights situation of the district.
