INSEC has submitted the Local Level Election-2022 observation report to the Election Commission on June 13, 2022. A team of officers from INSEC reached the commission and submitted the hard copy and soft copy of the report.
Earlier, INSEC had submitted a preliminary report on the day of the election stating that the election was held peacefully except for infrequent debates, some clashes and violation of code of conduct.
The report mentioned that 234 observers had obtained the permission of observation of the local level election from the Election Commission. They had monitored more than 250 polling stations across the country. According to INSEC voters with disabilities had difficulty in casting their votes in some places similar to the previous elections.
INSEC also mentioned that during the polling it took time to find the names of the voters who had taken voter ID cards for the last election due to the change in the serial numbers. The serial numbers were changed after the addition of new voters who got registered in this election. This also delayed the voting process.
Receiving the report, Secretary of the Election Commission Kamal Bhattarai said that the issues pointed out in the observation report would be included in the integrated report prepared by the commission.
INSEC’s Election Observation Focal Person and INSEC Online’s Editor Ramesh Prasad Timalsina said that the issues covered during the election observation were included in the report.
Submitting the report, INSEC Online’s English Editor Aarya Adhikari said that the observation work should be facilitated in the upcoming elections by holding discussions with the observing organizations.
