Suspects in Police Station Vandalism During the Gen Z movement Arrested

During the Gen Z movement, on September 8 and 9, 2025, individuals allegedly set fire to, vandalised, looted, and violently attacked police at the Area Police Office, Anarmani, Area Police Office, Surunga, and Area Police Office, Damak. On November 8, 2025, the police arrested 12 individuals in connection with these incidents.

DSP Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office stated that the suspects were identified and arrested based on the study and analysis of CCTV footage, videos, and photographs of the incidents.

Those arrested include Navaraj Rai, 45, Rajan Chaudhary, 22,  Ayush Dhimal, 20, Pooja Magar, 24 of of Birtamode Municipality–5; Gopal Sangraula, 42, of Kanakai Municipality–1; Bishnu Bik, 25, of Kanakai Municipality–3; Kushal Timalsina, 25 and Sanjay Basnet, 31 of Shivasatakshi Municipality–10, and Suraj Rai, 28, of Arjundhara Municipality–7.

For allegedly setting fire and vandalising the Area Police Office, Damak, the police also arrested Riaz Silwal, 19, of Damak Municipality–3; Nakul Adhikari, 22, of Chulachuli Rural Municipality–3, Ilam; and Sajan Lhagun, 22, originally from Miklajung Rural Municipality–5, Panchthar, currently residing in Damak Municipality–1.

The police filed a case against the arrested individuals under the charges of criminal disturbance and attempt to murder at the District Court on November 9, 2025, and legal proceedings are underway.
