Birendra Kumar Mahato, 34 resident of Maleth VDC-2 who was injured by the gun shot of Police at Rajbiraj Saptari, on 6th March 2017 died on 8th March 2017 on the course of treatment.
Mahato who was shot at stomach died at Dharan – based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in the course of treatment. B.P Koirala Health Academy has informed that Mahato died at 9 am during treatment.
The death toll at Saptari has reached four by the gunshot of Police with the demise of Mahato. Earlier, one Madhesi Front cadre died on the spot of incident whereas two others died while undergoing treatment treatment.
Other five individuals who were injured due to shot are receiving treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
According to Saptari INSEC district representative Mr. Manohar Kumar Pokhrel, Mahato’s wife Ranjana Mahato and Mother in Law, Dropatidevi Mehata have become unconscious after hearing about Mahato’s death. Mahoto’s wife and mother in law are being treated at Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmata Regional Hospital, Rajbiraj. Mahato who resigned from police service during maoist insurgency was engaged in Agriculture at his in-laws house , Maletha-2. Mahoto has three daughters and one son.
