Police arrested Suraj Mandal, 26, of Matihani Municipality-7 on 23 August for the charge of attempting to rape a 28-year-old woman. DSP Shailendra Bhatta reported that the aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Mahottari on 23 August alleging that he attempted to rape the victim on the same day.
The health examination of the victim was done on 23 August at the Provincial Hospital, Jaleshwar.
