Police arrested Ramita Mahara, 46, and her brother, Rambhu Mahara, 35, on charges of tying Ramita’s husband, Dipak Agrawal, 50, of Mirchaiya Municipality–7, with an iron chain and subjecting him to inhuman treatment.
The victim alleged that, due to a domestic dispute, he had been chained by his legs and tortured since July 9, 2026. He filed a complaint against the accused at the Mirchaiya Area Police Office on July 13, 2026. DSP Purushottam Pandey of the Mirchaiya Area Police Office stated that an investigation is underway and legal proceedings have been initiated.
