Police arrested Inspector Dinesh Gurung on 19 August for the charge of raping and beating a 38-year-old woman. According to SP and Information Officer Chakraraj Joshi at the District Police Range, Lalitpur, Gurung was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by his ex-wife on 18 August.
Registrar Shailendra Khadka informed that the District Court, Lalitpur, has granted permission to keep the accused in custody for five days. The health examination of the victim was done on 19 August at Patan Hospital.
