A 40-year-old woman filed a complaint on 18 August 2025 at the District Police Office against 45-year-old Shri Prasad Adhikari,45, of Shubhakalika Rural Municipality-5, alleging that he beat her falsely accusing her of practicing witchcraft. The victim stated that the accused beat her on 14 August claiming she had caused his father’s illness by practicing witchcraft. The accused absconded after the complaint was filed.
The victim sustained injuries in several body parts and received treatment at the Rarakatiya Health Post on 16 August. The District Police Office of Kalikot, through Information Officer Inspector Govinda Chaudhary, stated that the search for the accused is ongoing and they are investigating the incident.
