A 16-year-old rape victim has posted a video message on social media asking for justice and support. She asked for help disclosing that she is seven months pregnant and it will be difficult for her. On August 10, the victim made this appeal through the video.
The victim alleged that Indra Bahadur Rai, 56, of Gauradaha Municipality–9, Jhamak Chowk raped her on 13 December 2024. The victim stated that she did not inform her parents about the incident earlier because the accused had threatened to kill her.
The victim stated that the incident happened while she was studying at a relative’s house. On June 11, 2025, a medical examination confirmed that she is pregnant. Although a complaint was filed against the accused at the Jhiljhile Police Station on June 11, the accused has absconded, and the police have been unable to proceed with legal action. The victim and her family have requested justice and support, emphasizing that with the child’s birth, the mother will also face mental distress. They have urged authorities to take necessary steps to provide assistance and ensure justice.
