The Kapilvastu District Court has sentenced a 16-year-old boy from Bangai of Banganga Municipality-7, to eight years imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old girl. According to Court Registrar Kamal Kumar Acharya, the bench of Judge Prakash Chandra Adhikari on July 11, 2025, found the accused guilty and imposed a sentence of eight years imprisonment, a fine of Rs. 3,33,333, ordered compensation of Rs. 40,000 to be provided to the victim, and directed Rs. 13,333 to be deposited into the victim relief fund.
The aggrieved party had filed a complaint at the Kapilvastu District Police Office on February 5, 2024, stating that the incident had occurred on February 3. The health examination of the victim was done at the Kapilvastu Hospital, Taulihawa on February 5. Police arrested the accused on the same day.
