The District Court sentenced 17-year-old juvenile to nine years imprisonment foe raping a 3-year-old girl. The bench of District Court Judge Tejanarayan Paudel on April 29 sentenced the accused issued a verdict of nine years imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs 350,000, compensation of Rs 35,000, and a deposit of Rs 1,800 into the Victim Relief Fund, according to Court Registrar Damodar Ghimire.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Ward Police Office, Lamahi, on May 7 alleging that the boy had raped the minor on April 26, 2024. The health examination of the victim was done on the same day at Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, Ghorahi. Police arrested the boy on May 7.
