Police arrested Shantiram Dulal, 42, of Mai Municipality-4, Sakrabare, on April 25 for the charge of killing his mother-in-law Bhumika Chapagain, 52 of Mai Municipality-4, Sinjalitar. According to DSP Man Bahadur Rai of the District Police Office, the accused was arrested for investigation after locals reported that he had killed his mother-in-law with a khukuri during a domestic dispute on April 25.
DSP Rai informed that the victim sustained injuries to her temple and neck from the khukuri attack and died during treatment at B&C Hospital, Birtamod. The post-mortem of the body is prepared to be done at the Mechi Provincial Hospital, Bhadrapur, on April 26.
