The District Court has decided to adjourn the hearing in the case against 22-year-old Gauri Shankar Shah of Golbajar Municipality–3, who is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl. The single bench of Judge Dr. Prakash Upreti issued the order on April 7, 2025, to keep the proceedings on hold for the time being. The accused allegedly raped the minor from December 31, 2020 to January 18, 2021. The victim’s family filed a complaint at the Golbajar Police Office on January 21, 2021, regarding the incident.
The health examination of the minor was done at the District Hospital in Siraha on January 21, 2021. A charge sheet was filed against the accused in the district court on December 29, 2021, and an arrest warrant was issued. However, the accused has not been arrested till date.
