The District Court, Kapilvastu sentenced Tej Bahadur Pokhrel,35, and Madhav Rokaya, 31 of Buddha Bhumi Municipality-2, Birpur to 11-year-old imprisonment for raping a 17-year-old girl. The District Court Judge Shivalal Pandey’s bench on March 26 sentenced the accused to 11 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,00,000. The court informed that the fine amount would be compensated to the aggrieved party, and Rs. 20,000 to the Victim Relief Fund. The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office on November 19, 2023, alleging that the accused raped the minor on November 18, 2023. Subsequently, police arrested the accused on November 19, 2023.
The health examination of the minor was done on November 19 at the Primary Health Center, Thada.
