One Dies of Consuming Wild Mushrooms in Tanahun

Ten members of the same family in Byas Municipality-3 fell ill after consuming wild mushrooms. The mushrooms, collected by 30-year-old Narayan Magar from Sarbalang, Myagde Rural Municipality-6, on March 16, were consumed by Narayan Magar, his maternal uncle, 63-year-old Gurubahadur Pulami, and their family in Shantitol, Byas Municipality-6, leading to all of them falling ill.

The affected individuals include Gurubahadur Pulami,63, Surendra Pulami, 31, Narayan Magar 30, his wife Pabitra Magar, 23, his father-in-law Litbahadur Thapa, 42, Keshav Pulami, 36, Sita Pulami, 65, 4-year-old Sumit Pulami, Chakrabhadur Pulami, 66, and 18-year-old Arati Pulami. According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the affected individuals were taken to the Provincial Hospital in Damauli for treatment, where they are receiving further care. They are experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and chills. Inspector Raju Adhikari, the information officer at the District Police Office, Tanahun, stated that an investigation is ongoing.
Among the injured, 30-year-old Narayan Magar passed away on March 17 while receiving treatment.
