The District Court sentenced 23-year-old Harka Bahadur Dhamala of Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-1 to 12 years imprisonment for the crime of raping a 15-year-old girl. Registrar Kiran Kumar Singh of the District Court said that the bench of the District Court Judge Umesh Prasad Luitel on September 25 sentenced the accused to imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5,00, 000.
The victim filed a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Dhulabari on May 2, alleging that he had raped her on April 13. Police arrested the accused on May 2 and registered a rape case against him at the district court on May 26.
The accused was subsequently sent to custody for pre-trial detention by the bench of District Court Judge Tej Bahadur Khadka on May 27 the accused was in custody pending trial. The health examination of the victim was done at the Mechi Provincial Hospital, Bhadrapur on 2 May.

The District Court has sentenced 24-year-old Dhan Bahadur Bishwakarma of Damak Municipality-3 to seven years imprisonment for the crime of raping a 35-year-old woman.
The bench of the District Court Judge Tej Bahadur Khadka on September 23 sentenced him to prison along with a fine of Rs 2,00,000, said Ramchandra Basnet, the information officer of the court. The aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office Damak on April 25, 2021, alleging that the accused had raped the victim on 24 April.
Based on the complaint, the police arrested the accused on April 25 and registered a rape case against the accused at the district court on May 25, 2021. The bench of the District Court Judge Shankar Bahadur Rai on 27 May 2021 sent the accused for pre-trial detention.
The health examination of the victim was done on April 25, 2021, at the Mechi Provincial Hospital, Bhadrapur.
