The District Court has sentenced 36-year-old Mek Bahadur Saru of Rampur Municipality-10 to 7 years and 2 months in prison for raping a 46-year-old woman. District Court Registrar Keshav Parajuli informed INSEC that on September 10, the bench of District Court Judge Dal Bahadur KC decided to sentence the accused, Mek Bahadur Saru, to 7 years and 2 months in prison and to pay a compensation of 25,000 rupees.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office on February 26, stating that the accused had raped the victim on February 25, 2023. The accused was arrested by the police on February 26. The health examination of the victim was conducted on February 26 at Palpa Hospital.
