The police arrested 21-year-old Shraban Kumar Rana of Shitganga Municipality-6, Dagdhungre on August 23 for the charge of raping a 17-year-old girl. The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Thada on 23 August stating that the accused had raped the victim in the first week of November 2023. Inspector Rabindra Chand of the Area Police Office, Thada, informed INSEC that the accused has been arrested and further investigation is going on.
The health examination of the victim was done on August 23 at the Primary Health Centre, Thada. Inspector Chand stated that the victim gave birth on 10 August 2024.
