Prakash Human Rights Award-2024 Presented to Purnimaya Lama

The 30th Prakash Human Rights Award-2024 has been awarded to 62-year-old Purnimaya Lama of Namobuddha Municipality-9, Dapcha, Kavrepalanchowk. The award was presented on the occasion of 32nd memorial day of Prakash Kafle, the Founder and General Secretary of the Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC). Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the award at the program held in the Nepal Administrative Staff College, Lalitpur on 31 July. Minister Paudel presented the award honoring Lama with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

During the program, Paudel said that the government will properly address the justice demands of the victims. He acknowledged that Nepali society has experienced a painful conflict, and while the country has emerged from it, the wounds have not yet healed. He further stated that although the conflict has ended, and peace has been established, the scars left have not yet healed.

Paudel further expressed his commitment to completing the remaining peace process to ensure support for the victims. He also highlighted that the government of Nepal is dedicated to securing justice for the victims. Acknowledging that Nepal faced unexpected and unfair conflicts and stressed that he said that the government is determined to complete the peace process quickly.
