Chandra Bahadur Dangi, a Teacher at Salyan Public School in Triveni Rural Municipality-6, Luham subjected a boy studying in Class 6 to beating on 30 June. The parents of the victim have alleged that Dangi hit the student on his head with an iron scale during his class period.
Tulasi BK, the victim’s mother, informed that the injured was initially treated in Luham and later was taken to the district hospital for further treatment. She emphasized that the teacher should be punished for brutally beating her son at school. She added that if a student makes a mistake, there are other ways to handle it, or the parents should be informed. It’s not acceptable to physically harm a student who is sent to study.
DSP Nabin Karki of the District Police Office reported that the aggrieved party had filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Luham, seeking action against the teacher. He further mentioned that they will further discuss this matter and necessary actions will be taken with the consent of the victim’s family.
Neba Bahadur Khadka, founder of Salyan Public School, explained that the teacher accidentally hit the student while warning the student not to create any disturbing behavior in the classroom. The student suffered a minor cut and was taken to a medical center for treatment due to bleeding. Khadka mentioned they would decide on further actions after discussing the incident with the teacher.
