Landslide in Kaski District Causes Casualties and Damage

Landslide in Kaski District has caused the death of two people and several houses have been flooded after continuous rain since the night of 25 June. Landslide that took place in Madi Rural Municipality-5 Chitepani, killed 13-year-old Ayushma Ranabhat. However, her Grandmother who was sleeping with her in the same house got minor injuries.

A landslide collapsed the house in Pokhara-7, Aarupatama causing the death of 3-year-old Anmol Sunar while his mother Ritu Sunar was rescued in injured condition and brought to Gandaki Medical college. Due to continuous rain in Pokhara Metropolitan City- 7 Gairi Khet,  the houses of locals Kumar Sunar and Resham Gurung were flooded. However, there was no human casualty.

In Sipling Tara Toll , Kaski Pokhara Metropolitan City-33, Bagmara,  the houses of local Ramji Bastola, Suman Bik and Baburam Basnet were also flooded. A section of road under the Prithvi Highway of Pokhara Metropolitan City-33 has collapsed due to the  flood.  According to the Kaski District Police Office, it collapsed Wednesday morning. The continuous rainfall has also affected transportation of the vehicles using this route.
