Bisunke of Dailekh bags Bhajan Human Rights Award

Parbati Bisunke of Dailekh has been awarded this year’s Bhajan Human Rights award . She was presented an award by chief judge Bishnu Prasad Koirala of Nepaljung in a program organized on the occasion of 68th International Human Rights Day on December 10th.

The program was chaired by late Bhajan Ram’s wife Hira Chaudhary. While speaking at the program, Bisunke said that she got an inspiration to working this field from her mother and added that this award has given her added responsibilities.

Bisunke was born in Dailekh district and she has been actively involved in Human Rights and Social justice since 2001. He name was recommended for the award and was selected among the proposed name by the selection committee according to Basanta Gautam of the committee.

The cash prize of the award is Rs 25,000 with letter of felicitation. This award is presented in every two years to one person who is actively involved in a field of Human Rights and Social justice.

Late Bhajan Ram was actively involved in Human Rights field and was working as an officer at INSEC in Nepalgunj. He died after meeting with an accident while in a morning walk in 2012.

Meanwhile, Social campaigner Chandra Kala Uprety and Bhabuk Jung Thapa, regional chairperson of National Disability Federation  were jointly felicitated for their devotion and dedication the the field of Human rights and social justice.

Acting CDO Jagat Adhikari said that such felicitation will leave a positive mark in a society. INSEC MID-Western Regional coordinator Bhola Mahat said that they were felicitated to honor their dedication and devotion for the society.

Similarly, 16 days campaign on violence against women has been concluded today. In a concluding day, a rally was organized  from BP Chwok to Dhamboji Chowk.

The rally was participated by the representatives from government and non government organizations.
