The District Court sentenced Dilliram Siwakoti, 51, of Gauradaha Municipality-5, Jhapa residing at Mahankal Rural Municipality-6, Thuladurlung to 12 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,00,000 for raping a 15-year-old girl.
Information Officer Ram Sanjiwan Mahato said that the bench of the Honorable Judge Rishiram Acharya on 28 April sentenced the accused to 12-years-imprisonment and sent him to Nakkhu Jail.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at Chapagaon Police Station Lalitpur on April 17, 2022, stating that the accused raped the victim on the same day.
The accused was arrested and presented in the district court, Lalitpur on May 8, 2022. Subsequently, the district court on May 8, 2022 sent him for pre-trial detention. The health examination of the victim was done on April 18 at Patan Hospital.
