Police have arrested Basudev Karki, 31, on the charge of killing his father Jaya Bahadur Karki, 62, of Belbari Municipality-7 on April 14, 2022.
The victim was killed after a dispute related to property division that took place on April 14. The accused son had forcibly thrown his father on a rock and killed him, informed Inspector Khagendra Dhamala.
The victim’s younger son Tirtharaj Karki shared that his elder brother had killed his father after the dispute regarding property division. He further informed that the deceased had sold his property to his daughter after which Basudev had even beaten their 58-year-old mother Uma Devi Karki.
The post-mortem of the body was conducted at Koshi Hospital on April 14.
The victim’s family had received the dead body on the same day for the final rites which was conducted at a crematory located in Belbari Municipality-7.
