The District Court Sentenced Ganesh Prasad Neupane, 54, of Tilotamato Municipality-2, Rupandehi life imprisonment for raping a 10-years-old girl. The bench of District Court Judge Dhanishwar Paudel on 24 July convicted the accused and sentenced him to life imprisonment, imposed a fine of Rs 700,000, and ordered an additional compensation of Rs 50,000 to be paid to the victim by the accused, according to District Court Information Officer Padam Aryal.
The aggrieved party had filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Butwal, on 6 September 2023, stating that the accused had raped the girl on 2 September. The victim underwent a medical examination on 6 September at the Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal. The police arrested the accused on 6 September.
