Police arrested Shivkumar Mehata, 21, of Dewanganj Rural Municipality-7, along with Rabinkumar Yadav, 29, and Pintu Yadav, 26, of Dewanganj Rural Municipality-1, on April 15 in connection with the firing incident that occurred on April 14 on the road leading west from Yadav Tole of Dewanganj Rural Municipality-2 to Rasi.
As per SP Suman Kumar Timilsina of the District Police Office, Shivkumar Mehta, injured during the incident, is undergoing treatment at Nobel Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar Metropolitan City-4. He reported that preliminary investigation indicates the involvement of Shivkumar Mehta’s group and another group led by approximately 28-year-old Kameshwar Yadav of Dewanganj Rural Municipality-7 in the incident. Three individuals from Kameshwar’s group are absconding and the search is ongoing.
The exact reason behind the gun firing is yet to be confirmed.
