The District Court sentenced Dinesh Karki,39, of Dhankuta Municipality-5, Devantar to seven years imprisonment for raping a 19-year-old woman. The bench of Narayan Parajuli on April 8 sentenced the accused to the following imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 200 to the victim’s relief fund as per Registrar Ujjawal Neupane of the District Court.
The aggrieved party had filed a complaint against the accused on 3 July , 2020 at the District Police Office alleging that he raped the victim on June 30, 2020. Police arrested Karki from Mulghat, Municipality-9, Dhankuta on August 3, 2020 and registered a case under the charge of rape at the District Court. As per the District Court’s order, the accused was held in custody for further proceedings.
The health examination of the victim was done at the District Hospital on July 3, 2020.
