The District Court sentenced Gopal BK of Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-16 to seven years imprisonment forthe crime of raping a 50-year-old woman. The bench of District Court Judge Tikendra Dahal convicted the accused on February 21, sentencing him to seven years of imprisonment, a fine of Rs 300,000, compensation of Rs 60,000, and a deposit of Rs 30,000 to the Victim Relief Fund, according to Court Registrar Damodar Ghimire.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Dang, on March 28, alleging that BK raped the woman on March 26. The victim underwent a medical examination at Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, Ghorahi, on March 28. Subsequently, the accused was arrested on March 28.
