Police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile on July 21 for the charge of raping a 14-year-old minor.
The aggrieved party has alleged that the boy raped the victim on 19 July in a forest near the Divisional Forest Office of Narayan Municipality-7.
The health examination of the victim was done on 20 July at the District Hospital. Inspector Dipak Magarathi, Information Officer of the District Police Office informed that the investigation has been started based on the complaint filed.
According to the ‘Justice Administration (Procedure) Regulations, 2019’, if a child commits an act against the law, it is considered as juvenile delinquency. To start the investigation, the juvenile should be investigated by a juvenile counselor in a separate child monitoring room.
