Police arrested 31-year-old Lila Bahadur Gurung of Makalu Rural Municipality-5 on 27 June for the charge of raping a 22-year-old woman with disability on 24 June.
The aggrieved filed a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office on April 3 for the charge of raping the victim on April 1.
The team of District Police Office and Area Police Office, Dharan arrested the absconding accused on 24 June from Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-16, Hans Marga in Sunsari and made him public on 27 June.
Inspector Ramkumar Lamichhane of the District Police Office reported that the accused raped the victim by making a false promise of marriage.
The health examination of the victim was done at the District Hospital on April 5, 2023.
