The District Court of Bhojpur sentenced 31-year-old Rajan Basnet of Salpasilichho Rural Municipality-1, Dobhane to three and a half year imprisonment for raping a 23-year-old woman.
Registrar Mohan Ghimire of the District Court informed that the bench of Babukaji Baniya on 6 June gave the following verdict.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office on 13 December 2023 alleging that the accused had raped the victim on the same day. Police subsequently arrested the accused on 14 December and registered a rape case against him at the District count on 5 January.
The bench of District Court Judge Babukaji Baniaya sent the accused for pre-trial detention on 7 January.
The health examination of the victim was conducted on 14 December 2023 at the District Hospital.
