District Court of Jhapa has ordered the imprisonment of five years to Kumar Kafle, 20, for being guilty of sexual abuse. Kafle was accused of sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl.
He was proven guilty by the bench of judge Narayan Prasad Parajuli. Shrestedar Madan Prasad Parajuli told INSEC that the verdict was given on November 2, 2021, and he was also ordered to deposit NRs. 1,000 to the victim relief fund.
The victim was abused by the guilty on September 20, 2020, and the complaint was filed on September 23, 2020 at Area Police Office Kakadvitta.
The accused was then arrested on September 23, 2020, and a case of rape was filed against him on October 6, 2020.
Kafle was remanded to custody on October 7, 2020.
A health checkup of the victim was conducted on September 23, 2020.
