A clash has broken out between CPN-Maoist Centre, CPN-Unified Socialist and Nepali Congress and CPN-UML cadres in Madi Rural Muncipality-3, Talabang on May 4, 2022.
Nepali Congress candidate Nim Bahadur Dangi, 38, of Madi Rural Muncipality -3, Kiran Buda, 28, of CPN-Maoist and Samir Gharti, 32, were injured in the clash.
According to Inspector Thaman GC of the District Police Office, Dangi’s condition is normal and he has been sent to Tulsipur, Dang for treatment. Budha and Gharti have returned home after general treatment at the local medical centre.
The clash took place at Talabang Bazaar while the cadres were returning from an election rally. According to Gopal Gharti, Regional Chairperson of Nepali Congress Constituency No. 2, Dangi was injured by an iron rod when the CPN-Maoist Centre and CPN-Socialist youths suddenly attacked him while returning from the program.
According to Bijay Gharti, a joint candidate of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Swatantra from CPN-UML, the YCL youths in a group of about 20-22 people attacked him at around 7 pm.
CPN-Maoist Madi Rural Municipality Secretary Bir Bahadur Gharti said that they retaliated when the other group came to attack their cadres. In Madi village, Amar Singh Gharti from CPN-Maoist Centre and CPN-Unified Socialist and Bijay Gharti from Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and an independent candidate are contesting for the post.
