Three international human rights organizations have demanded investigation regarding the accusations made on Chief Justice Cholendra Sumsher JBR.
Amnesty International, International Commission of Jurists, and Human Rights Watch released a joint press statement on November 12 asking for an investigation into the accusations made on Chief Justice as the independence and integrity of Nepal’s judiciary system is at stake due to the ongoing crisis in the Supreme Court.
The organizations have emphasized the need to resolve the ongoing crisis to protect the credibility and independence of the court.
The Supreme Court has a very important role in maintaining human rights and rule of law therefore this ongoing crisis is a matter of serious concern for the judicial system- mentioned in the statement.
